août 9, 2022The Director General of the National Agency for Persons with Disabilities (ANPH), Doualeh Saïd Mahamoud, and the CEO of Djibah SEAFOOD Company, Tim Mc Gavern, signed a partnership agreement. The signing ceremony took place last Thursday at the ANPH premises, located in the Magentin camp near the « La Siesta » road. This agreement aims to establish a lasting collaboration, granting this American-Djiboutian seafood exploitation company the « FRIEND OF THE DISABLED » label for a period of one year.
As part of promoting the socio-professional integration of citizens with special needs in our country, the Director General of ANPH, Doualeh Saïd Mahamoud, welcomed a large delegation of senior officials from the Djibah SEAFOOD Company on the morning of Thursday, October 17, in the large meeting room of his institution. The factory for processing and packaging seafood products was inaugurated the previous day by the President of the Republic, Ismaïl Omar Guelleh, on World Food Day.
Led by the CEO of the company, Tim Mc Gavern, the delegation included the Vice President, Kadidja Ibrahim Idriss, the General Manager of the Djibah SEAFOOD factory, Eleyeh Issa Goudi, the Logistics Director, Alex Munro, and the CEO of « Triple M » (the American branch of Djibah SEAFOOD), Michael E. Michno. They were accompanied by an American investor, John Purvis, and their Ethiopian partner, Abduljebar Nesredin.
The Technical Advisor to the Director General of ANPH, Mahad Ibrahim Hassan, and a senior designer of the agency, Man Mahamoud Moussa, also participated in this event, which is meant to strengthen the social inclusion of disabled people in our country.
After the welcome, the Director General of ANPH and the CEO of Djibah SEAFOOD Company signed the partnership agreement.
This memorandum of understanding outlines the terms of engagement and collaboration in the professional integration process for disabled persons.
ANPH has committed to working closely with Djibah SEAFOOD SARL to promote political will focused on disability issues. On this occasion, Doualeh Saïd Mahamoud and Tim Mc Gavern agreed that the company’s products will now carry the « FRIEND OF THE DISABLED » label for one year.
The agreement also highlights Djibah SEAFOOD SARL’s commitment to training young disabled individuals with a view to hiring them and providing ANPH with a certain percentage of the profits from this label.
Speaking to the local press, ANPH Director General Doualeh Saïd Mahamoud expressed his satisfaction with this initiative and hoped that Djibah SEAFOOD SARL’s commendable commitments would inspire other companies in the country. Tim Mc Gavern thanked the head of ANPH and his colleagues for the warm welcome extended to his delegation members.
At the end of this meeting, the Director General of ANPH presented certificates of recognition to the CEO and his counterpart from Djibah SEAFOOD SARL, Tim Mc Gavern and Eleyeh Issa Goudi, respectively, for their commitment to promoting the professional integration of disabled people.
